Uttoxeter Quilt and Embroidery Show April 2012
Our 'Diamonds' exhibition to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee. We all found the theme and A4 size restriction challenging but nevertheless produced very different pieces as well as an array of 3D items. Unfortunately the lighting made it difficult to take a good photograph and this doesn't show everyone's work but we will post some close ups in the next day or two.

Up and coming
LIFE has been taking over for all of us, hence the lack of posts, however we need to tell you that we will be showing our latest body of work at the Quilt & Embroidery show at Uttoxeter Racecourse in April. This is a real showcase for us and we are really looking forward to it. There will be 2 or 3 of us present by our exhibition for each of the 3 days so do please come along and have a chat.
WE decided to take the Queen's Jubilee year as our inspiration, hence our theme of Diamonds. And due to the limitations of exhibition space we decided to work to a set size, each of us aiming to produce an A4 and a 3D piece. We have all found this a huge challenge, particularly the size constraint. We all work in very different ways, often in different media, but we have each at some stage of our progress with this theme, wondered why we restricted ourselves in what seemed at times to be so many ways!
However, whilst we are not all completely finished we are (hopefully) justifiably proud of our efforts so far.

great news
Fantastic news. Our exhibition only went up on Friday and already we have a sale (or 3). Anne's Northern Lights pieces have been snapped up by an American gent from Kansas.
So, apologies for any visitors over the next few days - there may be a bit of a gap until we can get over to Newark to fill it, but we will.
Congratulations to Anne on your sale. 3 stunning pieces of work!

Newark
Well, August is fast approaching and our next exhibition goes up on 12th at Newark.
We had a trip over here a couple of weeks ago just to have a good recce of the venue and have a meet planned in a week or so to get all of our pieces together and try and plan some kind of layout.
This means we should have more photos to update with fairly soon - lots of lovely new work to show off!
Check out the poster below for venue, dates and opening times etc. We won't be stewarding at Newark but do please feel free to pick up one of our promo bookmarks and get in touch if you have any queries.
We also have our next venue confirmed for next year but more about that later - lets get Newark sorted first!

latest
Well, this morning we have been over to Rugby to take down our 'And Sew On' exhibition. Mary sold her Canal Bank piece so that was great news and we received lots of very favourable comments in the visitors book.
So now we are preparing for our next exhibition in the summer at the Gilstrap Centre in Newark. We are going over there for a visit next week to check out the layout - everywhere is so different!
Anyway if you didn't get chance to see us at Rugby please feel free to come and have a look at our 'Skylines' exhibition in Newark from Sat 13th August to Sun 2nd October

it's up!
Well today we put up our exhibition at Rugby! Started at 1.00 and left at 5.00 as they were closing the doors. So glad we planned it out before hand (as much as poss) - it always takes a long while to get everything in the right place and of course it all looks different when you actually get to the venue.
Check out the pics below and let us know what you think.
Will also add some pics on the exhibition page of the individual pieces, but may need another visit to get more individual shots.
